Men Post Second Straight Win; Beat Presby 5-2

The Charleston Southern men's tennis team recorded its second consecutive win on Thursday, comprehensively defeating future Big South member Presbyterian 5-2 at Clinton, S.C.
For the first time all season, the Bucs got off on the right foot not only by winning the doubles point, but sweeping the doubles matches all together. While the number one doubles team of Grega Teraz and Guy David moved to 3-3 on the season with an 8-5 victory, the number two team, Steven Dean and Gui Rebolo, and the number three team, Chris Peek and Keith Whittingham, recorded even smoother victories, as Dean and Rebolo won 8-4 and Peek and Whittingham won 8-1.
The Bucs carried this strong outing in to singles play. Buoyed by their victory in number one doubles, David and Teraz made quick work of their opponents, as each recorded perfect 6-0, 6-0 triumphs on numbers two and three respectively. Mike Baker's Bucs also picked up wins at number one, where Steven Dean was triumphant by a 6-4, 6-3 score line, and number five, where Luis Maselli overcame Mark Canatelli 6-4, 6-1.
The only matches lost all day by CSU were in third set super-tiebreakers, as Chris Peek fell to Henry Walker 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 and Thomas Mullikin, in his first career duals singles match for the Bucs, fell 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 on number six.
The win improves CSU to 2-4 on the season. Next up for the Bucs is a trip to the Clemson Men's Tennis Spring Classic, where they will face Southern Mississippi and Florida A&M on Friday and Toledo and Emory on Saturday.
