CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern Buccaneers are set to take on the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb this evening at 7 p.m. The Bucs come off of their second conference loss to Winthrop, and have an overall record of 11-6-1 (5-2-1 BSC) and the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs come in with an overall record of 6-8-4 (3-3-2 BSC).

Charleston Southern is presently in a four-way tie for second place in the Big South with Radford, Coastal Carolina, and High Point. All teams that have played in competitive matches with the Bucs this season. Getting a win on Friday is crucial for the Bucs to keep pace with those teams, as well as generate momentum moving towards next week's Big South Conference Tournament.

Gardner-Webb comes in on a four match unbeaten streak in the Big South. The Bulldogs have taken home wins over Radford, Presbyterian, and UNC Asheville as well as ties with VMI and Coastal Carolina. They have had a solid defense this season, and are in a virtual tie for second in the conference in goals against average with a 1.14 per game average. The Bulldogs are also second in the conference in shutouts, with a total of seven on the season.
