HIGH POINT, N.C. - Postgame quotes are
available from CSU Head Coach Barclay Radebaugh after his team's
73-68 loss to High Point on Saturday.
On falling behind in the first half:
"We played with tremendous effort and heart. We didn't get off to a
great start, though, and we had to battle back. High Point came out
with a great deal of energy. They were driving the ball to the rim,
and we were settling for jump shots. That was the difference in the
game."
On the second half comeback:
"We got down and played with more confidence. We executed better.
We were on the attack instead of being on our heels. I thought we
were in attack mode in the second half, and we played much
better."
On the play of Kelvin Martin:
"Kelvin played really hard, and he played really well. He did some
things to keep us in the game when we were struggling in the first
half. His effort is very much appreciated by our team."
On the play of High Point's Nick Barbour:
"Barbour got to the rim and shot free throws. He didn't settle for
jump shots, and that really helped him."
On the late game issues that plagued the team:
"I think we need to continue to work on our postgame execution. We
rushed some shots instead of showing poise. When we got down, we
rushed, and that is dangerous if you don't hit those shots. Even if
it costs us a couple of seconds, it's worth it to take a good
shot."
On the improvement his team is making:
"I don't focus on how we've lost six out of the last seven. We're
getting better. We have had an extremely tough schedule lately.
There aren't many teams in our league who can take Radford to
overtime and compete with High Point on the road until the last
minute."
