Box Score
CHARLESTON S.C. - The
Bucs host the Cougars of College of Charleston this afternoon.
Please note that the venue has been changed from Buccaneer field to
Blackbaud Stadium due to poor playing conditions from rains over
the weekend. Kick off remains unchanged, and is scheduled for 4
p.m.
The Bucs come off a
strong 3-0 season opening win against USC Upstate, a game in which
they controlled the flow of the game and the outcome was never in
doubt. The Bucs outshot the Spartans of USC Upstate at a ten to one
ratio, forty shots to four. The Bucs leading goal scorer last
season Marky Boyce had two goals in the opener, and Caitlin
Wesnesky added a goal of her own. It was a dominant performance by
the Bucs of Charleston Southern. They look to follow that up that
success with a strong showing against the Cougars of College of
Charleston.
The Cougars have
started the season 0-1 with an opening loss to Kennesaw State at a
score of 4-3. The Cougars evened up the score roughly half way
through the second half but conceded a late goal and subsequently
fell to the Owls of Kennesaw State.
Sloane
Levin, a sophomore transfer from Virginia Tech, made her collegiate
debut with two goals. Junior Hope Atkinson also added a
goal.
The Cougars are coming
off a season in which they had an over all record of 12-7-2.
The Bucs look to avenge
a 3-0 loss to the Cougars last season, who have also had the upper
hand in the series in recent history.
Kickoff is scheduled
for 4 p.m. this afternoon at Blackbaud Stadium.
