WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Charleston Southern junior Caleb Breeden led the way in a competitive field at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Breeden ran the 8k course in 28:56.62 to finish 143rd. CSU finished 16th as a team with 496 points. George Mason University won the event with 68 points, and the Patriots' Steven Flynn ran in 24:50.42 to pace the collegiate field.
Breeden delivered another strong outing for assistant coach for distance and jumps Sirena Williams' Bucs in their final tune-up for the October 31 Big South Conference Championship.
CSU's Kuaniyal Chol, Caleb Edgehill and Harrison Huntley ran together, finishing right behind one another in succession. Chol led the trio with a time of 30:59.71
Freshmen Gerald Bolton and Chris Fludd-Clark also competed for CSU. Bolton recorded a time of 32:59.61.
CSU now turns its attention forward to the Big South Championship, to be hosted by Presbyterian College in Greenville, S.C. on October 31.
