ROCK HILL, S.C. – Charleston Southern junior Caleb Breeden earned a 41st place finish to lead the way at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational. The event was the Bucs' first 8K race of the campaign.
Breeden ran the course in 28:36.5, a pace of 5:45 per mile, to pace assistant coach for distance and jumps Sirena Williams' squad.
Caleb Edgehill and Kuaniyal Chol were the other top finishers for CSU, placing 71st and 84th in a strong field that included runners from Appalachian State, USC Upstate, and host, Winthrop. Edgehill came through with a time of 30:40.5, while Chol crossed the finish line in 31:48.3
Gerald Bolton and Harrison Huntley were the other competitors for the Bucs. Appalachian State won the event as a team, and was following in second by USC Upstate
CSU is back in action locally next Saturday at the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational. The meet will be held in Mt. Pleasant.
