Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern outshot Wofford by a 22-12 margin but the Terriers converted the only one that counted, scoring 2:36 into the second overtime period in a 1-0 victory over the Buccaneers on Friday at the CSU Soccer Field. The Bucs dropped to 2-5 while Wofford improved to 3-4.
How They Scored
- Hayley Younginer took a feed from Catie Slater and beat Alyssa Dellacqua to her upper right for the lone goal of the contest. The goal was the 10th of the season for Younginer, the most in the Southern Conference.
- The Bucs had two golden scoring opportunities in the final two minutes of regulation. Kayla Robinson was just wide of the goal with 1:35 remaining, and Jordan Newman's header was stopped by Wofford goalkeeper Alex King with 40 seconds on the clock.
- Robinson also provided the best chance for CSU in the first half, but her long shot in the 37th minute grazed off the post.
Inside the Numbers
- Although the Bucs held a large advantage in shots, the Terriers had eight shots on goal, one more than CSU.
- The Bucs also had seven corner kicks to none for Wofford.
- Robinson and Jazzin Clark led CSU with four shots with three of Clark's being on goal.
- Dellacqua finished with seven saves while King had eight.
- Dellacqua, Emilie Gilbert, Sidney Doherty and Taylor Francis were on the field for all 103:26.
News and Notes
- The game was the first for the Bucs since they hosted College of Charleston on September 3.
- The loss was only CSU's second in seven all-time meetings against Wofford. The Bucs lead the series 4-2-1.
- Dellacqua increased her career saves total to 158, and she now has sole possession of seventh place in school history. She needs 17 more to pass Molly Shawcross (1996-99).

The Bucs host Stetson on Sunday at 2 p.m. That game was added to the schedule earlier this week after two games last weekend were cancelled due to the threat of Hurricane Irma. CSU then opens Big South play on September 23 at UNC Asheville.
