Buccaneers Fall Game to be carried live on ESPN+

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Head Coach Autry Denson and the Charleston Southern football team announced their Fall Game will be held this Saturday, November 14, at Buccaneer Field. Kickoff for the game is set for 10 a.m.
Family and friends of the football team will be able to attend the game in-person, while fans will be able to watch the game live on ESPN+. The link to watch the contest will be provided closer to the date of competition.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Bucs will not face an outside opponent this fall. However, the team opened up their fall practice dates on October 17 with the intent of continuing to build on the successes of the 2019 fall season on their way to preparing for the spring 2021 season.
CSU will compete in a four-game Big South Conference schedule as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. The Bucs will travel to Kennesaw State (Mar. 13) and Monmouth (Mar. 27), while hosting Robert Morris (Mar. 20) and Gardner-Webb (Apr. 3).
Among the highlights of Saturday's Fall Game will include a presentation of the 2021 team captains where they will each present a section of the program's Football Ministry Culture. They will also reveal the uniform combinations, as well as offer "We Choose Love" hoodies for sale at the game.
The Buccaneers were voted third in the 2020 Big South Preseason Poll earlier this fall during the conference's annual Media Day. Voted on by head coaches and media members, the Bucs were one of three programs to receive a first-place vote and earned the third-place prediction.
Charleston Southern enters their second season under Head Coach Autry Denson after finishing 5-1 down the stretch including a perfect 4-0 mark over the final month of the 2019 season. Denson and his staff used that momentum for another highly-ranked recruiting class over the offseason, checking-in with the No. 13 class according to Hero Sports FCS.
Additionally, nine Charleston Southern football players were recognized on the 2020 Big South Football Preseason All-Conference teams. Defensive linemen Nick Salley, Anton Williams, and Shaundre Mims, defensive back Cody Cline, placekicker Alex Usry, and long snapper Ethan Ray all earned preseason All-Conference First Team recognition. Quarterback Jack Chambers, offensive lineman JT Melton, and wide receiver Garris Schwarting were all honored on the Honorable Mention squad.
