CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern fell to Liberty in match play in the season-opening One-Day Match against the Flames at the Oak Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island on Friday, 11-9.

The Bucs and Flames lined up in two separate nine-hole events with eight golfers competing in matches throughout the day. Liberty led 4.5-3.5 through the first nine holes, while CSU rallied back over the back nine with the 4.5-3.5 win to even the score at 8-8 through 18 holes.

In the tiebreaker, a four-ball match score was kept in each foursome. CSU won the four-ball match in the grouping featuring Colin Trahan and Keegan Vaugh, but the Flames captured the wins in the other three matchups in taking the 11-9 decision on the day.

Today marked the first competition for CSU newcomers Jake Carter, Tyler Beeck, Palmer Mason, Keegan Vaugh, and Caleb Loudin.
