Charleston Southern volleyball hits the road for the first time of 2021 facing Radford in a battle of two unbeaten teams in the Big South, both sitting at 2-0 after weekend sweeps. Charleston Southern took a pair of 3-2 victories over the Highlanders last season including the regular season finale that pitted a winner-moves-on showdown for the final spot in the Big South Championships top-6 field.

Paige Reagor played a huge key in the Bucs' sweep of Winthrop finishing with 27 kills, 13 blocks and hitting .317 as CSU swept Winthrop 3-0 Saturday and took down the defending champs in four sets Sunday. The win Saturday also snapped the Eagles' 16-game win streak inside Big South play dating back to the 2018 season. Reagor's effort landed her the first Big South Volleyball Player of the Week accolade in her young career after making the All-Freshman Team last season.

Peyton Thompson also made and impressive debut over the weekend finishing with 27 kills, two service aces and six blocks. She was joined by Angelika Rusin, Layla Sarvis, Dayana Chara and Gabby Naniseni in making their Buccaneer debuts with each contributing key blocks, kills and aces at crucial moments versus the Eagles.

Radford enters the weekend fresh off a pair of victories over Gardner-Webb including a dominant 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20) sweep. Taylor O'Neal paced the Highlander attack with 21 kills and four service aces while Kennedi Johnson had 11 blocks.

Radford was selected fifth in the Big South Preseason Coaches' Poll just three points behind Presbyterian. The Highlanders return 13 members of the 2019 squad that finished 10-16 overall and 6-8 in Big South play while adding eight freshmen.

Saturday and Sunday mark the 60th and 61st meetings all-time between two of the Big South's founding members as the Bucs put a three-match win streak over the Highlanders on the line Saturday night. Both matches can be seen on ESPN+ with Saturday set for a 7 p.m. start and Sunday a 2 p.m. start.
