The Bucs fell in their home opener Sunday afternoon, dropping a 5-1 decision to Georgia Southern at the CSU Soccer Field.
Elizabeth Olsen scored the lone goal for CSU off a
Daniela Contreras corner kick, while
Jenna Moran made four saves in goal.
Marcela Montoya and Elis Nemtsov combined for all five of Georgia Southern's goals, with Montoya bagging a hat trick and Nemtsov netting a brace.

Olsen and Contreras lead the Bucs with two shots apiece, with both of Olsen's shots being on target. Moran and
Maddie Reilly were the only Bucs to play the full 90 minutes in CSU's opening match against Georgia Southern.
Bri Robinson led the Bucs in scoring with two goals and an assist during the 2020-21 season.
Lauren McDonald and
Emma Ryan are the other returning goalscorers from last year's team, while
Kayla Reese is also back after leading the Bucs with a pair of assists last season.
Moran played every minute between the sticks last season and recorded 33 saves with a 1.15 goals against average.
What to Watch For
CSU and Stetson have not played since 2017, a 1-1 draw in Charleston. The Bucs have not won against the Hatters since the 2001 season.
Despite a 5-1 loss to open the season, CSU managed to split the possession battle against Georgia Southern evenly, with both teams having 50 percent of the possession in the match.
Charleston Southern was 2-2-0 last season when out-shooting its opponents, compared to a 1-4-1 mark when opponents had the advantage in shots.
CSU allowed just 11 goals in nine games last season. The 11 goals allowed ranked fourth in the Big South, while the Bucs' 1.22 opponent scoring average ranked fifth in the conference.
Scouting Stetson
Stetson enters Thursday's match with a 2-2 record after winning back-to-back matches against Mercer and Alabama State. Thursday's match begins a four-match road trip for the Hatters, who will also play at The Citadel, Georgia Southern and South Carolina State over the next two weeks.
Jackie Flacco leads the Hatters with a pair of goals, one assist and five points. Lea Alexander, Maggie Struble and Kyleigh Thelen each have one goal and one assist for Stetson. Ashleigh Wise has started three of Stetson's four matches in goal, making 11 saves with a 1.00 goals against average.
Stetson was picked to finish tied for ninth in the ASUN Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points after a 1-7-1 season in the 2021 spring campaign.
Series Breakdown
Thursday's meeting will be the ninth all-time matchup between the Bucs and Hatters. Stetson has a slight 4-3-1 advantage in the all-time series, but Charleston Southern is 2-1-1 in home matches between the programs.
