CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball extended their win streak over Lowcountry foe South Carolina State by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-15) margin Thursday afternoon from McAlister Field House on the campus of The Citadel.
Charleston Southern (4-6) got double-digit kill performances from
Gabrielle Naniseni and
Peyton Thompson as they hit .388 as a squad. South Carolina State (0-6) was led offensively by Gabrielle Wells and Maria Julia Vedovatto's five kills in the loss.
Indigo Young finished just shy of 10 kills in the Buccaneer sweep while
Ella Lochbiler added seven and the tandem of
Kaileigh Ammons and
Paige Reagor had six apiece. Reagor also hit a perfect 1.000 on the day collecting six kills on all six attacks.
CSU's defensive effort Thursday held the Bulldogs to just .050 – a season-low for a Buccaneer opponent.
