CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball dropped its first Big South match of the season Friday evening, as visiting Campbell earned a 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-15) win inside Buccaneer Fieldhouse.
Peyton Thompson and
Paige Reagor led the Bucs' attack with seven kills apiece, while
Ella Lochbiler had six kills and a team-best .308 hitting percentage.
Indigo Young led the CSU defense with four blocks.
Campbell jumped out to a quick start and never looked back. The Camels led by as many as nine in the opening set and took advantage of six CSU errors to grab an early 1-0 lead in the match.
The Camels got off to another quick start in the second set, building a seven-point lead before the Bucs made a late run. Charleston Southern took five of the final seven points of the set, including a pair of kills by Reagor, but the Camels held on to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
After a back-and-forth start to the third set, the visitors took complete control with an 11-1 run. CSU took four of the next five points following the Campbell scoring run, but it wasn't enough as the Camels cruised to a third-set win and a sweep of the match.
