CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Rachel Feggeler had 13 kills, six digs and six aces Saturday morning, but visiting Jacksonville State defeated Charleston Southern in four sets in the finale of the VolleyBucs Invitational.
Feggeler's six aces marked her fourth straight match with four or more aces.
Paige Reagor had 13 kills and five blocks, while
Indigo Young added four blocks for the Bucs.
CSU got off to a slow start, dropping 10 of the first 13 points before making a run. Jacksonville State led by as many as eight in the first set, but three Feggeler service aces, along with multiple kills by Young and Reagor helped the Bucs take the first set, 25-23.
The second set was a back-and-forth affair, with both sides trading points and scoring runs. CSU staved off one set point, but JSU took three of the final four points to win the set. The Gamecocks took control of the match in the final two sets, winning 25-15 and 25-19 to claim the match. Lena Kindermann had 18 kills to lead all players, with most of that damage coming in the three sets JSU won. Lexie Libs had a match-high 43 assists, while Kaylie Milton had a double-double for the visitors with 12 kills and 10 digs.

- Feggeler leads the Big South with 21 aces and 1.31 aces per set. She also has the two highest single-match ace totals in the conference this season.
- Emma Minnick recorded 32 assists despite only playing in three of the four sets.
- Ashleigh Holweger was the lone Buc with more than 10 digs in the match, finishing with 12.
- Saturday's match marked the first time this season the Bucs won the opening set.
