Three Bucs Place in Top 5 as CSU Wins Second Straight Tournament

Goose Creek, S.C. – Caroline Engelbredt took home the individual crown while Laerke Jensen and Madison Freeman also finished in the top five to lead CSU to the team title in the Buccaneer Classic.

Engelbredt was the only player under par through the first round. She finished +4 in the tournament and one stroke ahead of the second place athlete. Jensen's second round of 70 was tied for the best round in the tournament and helped her finish just two strokes off the lead in third place. Freeman was five strokes behind Engelbredt, with a second round 72 anchoring a strong weekend that saw her tie for fifth overall.

Elsie Verhoeven closed the tournament with back to back rounds of 77 to tie for 22nd as CSU's fourth golfer. Isabell Friberg's strong first round of 74 helped her finish tied for 29th to close out the Bucs lineup.

Up Next

The Bucs travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for their next tournament. CSU will compete in the Olde Stone Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Kentucky and Louisville on October 24-25.
