Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern women's tennis fell in a marathon match with Georgia Tech at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center Saturday evening. Georgia Tech took the match 4-0, as three singles matches were unfinished. Â

The match started with Georgia Tech (11-5) clinching the doubles point after wins at flights two and three. Both flights ended at a 6-4 decision in favor of the Yellow Jackets, causing the top doubles match to end unfinished.

Singles went the way of the Yellow Jackets as well, as Charleston Southern (10-4) was unable to find a point in the singles competition. All six flights were played tough both ways, as Georgia Tech had just enough to finish with a 4-0 victory. Four of the six matches had a set require a seventh point to clinch. Charleston Southern continues to play its best tennis of the year despite the final result from this afternoon's result.

Charleston Southern's loss Saturday afternoon snaps a streak of six-straight victories, five of which came as sweeps. The Bucs have only seemed to get better as the year as gone on, as the defending Big South Champions hold a perfect conference mark this season.

The Bucs return to action Tuesday, March 29, as they head to Clinton to take on Presbyterian in Big South play. Charleston Southern has ran off 13 Big South matches in a row, dating back to the 2020 campaign. The 2022 slate has the Bucs sitting at 4-0 in conference play thus far at the halfway point. The Tuesday match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
