Charleston Southern Looks to Bounce Back with Heavy Midweek Slate

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern women's tennis is set to see an away and home midweek schedule, starting with a Big South match on the road at Presbyterian Tuesday, March 29 before a return trip home to take on Delaware in a non-conference affair Wednesday, March 30.

The match with Presbyterian was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 23 in Clinton, but due to weather a week ago, both sides agreed to move it to Tuesday, March 29 with a 1:00 p.m. start.

Charleston Southern will then play host to Delaware in a non-conference affair a day later, as that match is set for a 1:00 p.m. start at the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. The meeting will stand as the second ever in the series, as the Blue Hens took the only meeting in 2019 with a 4-3 final.

Against Presbyterian, The Buccaneers are 12-5 after taking the last meeting a season ago. It has been all Charleston Southern in the most recent meetings, taking 12 of the last 14 with six of those being sweeps. Only one of the five losses has come in Clinton, the other four coming in the Lowcountry.

Charleston Southern's perfect home record came to end last time out, as Atlantic Coast Conference member Georgia Tech was able to outlast the Buccaneers. Three matches ended in a no decision after the Yellow Jackets collected the four necessary points to clinch the match.

The Bucs have another streak they currently lay claim to, as Charleston Southern has turned in 13-straight Big South regular season matches including a perfect 4-0 line in the 2022 campaign.
