CHARLESTON, S.C. – Appalachian State stands as the next tilt for Head Coach
Anca Dumitrescu's side, as Charleston Southern women's tennis welcomes the Mountaineers to the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center for the regular season finale. The non-conference affair is set for a 12:00 p.m. start Thursday, April 14.
TUNE UP
Charleston Southern has clinched the top seed and an opening-round bye in the Big South Tournament coming up April 22-23 with wins over UNC Asheville and Radford this past weekend. The two triumphs also clinched a perfect Big South slate for the Bucs for the second-straight season.
FINALLY HERE
Appalachian State was set to make the trip down to the Holy City back in mid-March, but Mother Nature had other plans as the match was forced to be moved to Thursday with rain being in the area. With Charleston Southern earning the bye in the first round, this match will serve a much bigger purpose than just the regular season finale as it avoids a long layoff until the following weekend in the Big South Tournament.
SERIES HISTORY
The two clubs have met a total of 10 times with the first installment going the way of the Buccaneers, 5-1, back in 1990. The two sides have shared the 10 meetings straight down the middle, the last going Appalachian State's way in 2018.
