CHARLESTON, S.C. – For the first time since 2019, city foes Charleston Southern and College of Charleston will face off in women's soccer when the teams meet on Wednesday night at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
CSU enters with a record of 2-2-1 with shutout victories over Brewton-Parker and South Carolina State. The Bucs are coming off a 1-0 loss to Jacksonville on Sunday. The Cougars are 4-2.
The teams have three common opponents, with both beating SC State and losing to Mercer. Charleston has a 3-0 victory over Coastal Carolina while CSU played to a 2-2 draw with the Chanticleers.
The Cougars hold a 19-5-4 lead in the all-time series. Prior to not playing the past two seasons, the teams had squared off every year since 1993.
The CSU attack is led by
Jenea Knight, whose four goals has her on top of the Big South rankings.
Bri Robinson is first in assists with four, all coming in the season opener against Brewton-Parker when she set a school single-game record. Robinson and
Dakota Fiedler both have three goals.
Sara Curtis has played all 450 minutes in goal and is fourth in the Big South with a 1.20 goals against average and .786 save percentage.
Grace Powell leads the Cougars with four goals. Faith Slimmer and Bubbles Dever are tied for the top spot on the team with three assists.
