Bucs Fall on the Road at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern men's basketball fell in a Lowcountry clash at The Citadel Tuesday night, losing 81-52 on the road.

STRUGGLING FROM THE FIELD
Charleston Southern struggled from all parts of the floor all contest, turning in a 32% performance in the first half, including 2-9 from three. The second half saw the same struggles, as the Bucs shot 28% from the field and failed to knock down a three in nine attempts. The game percentage from the field ended at 30% and 11% from three.

TWO IN DOUBLE-FIGURES
Two different Bucs found double figures in the contest, with RJ Johnson leading the way with 23 points. Taje' Kelly came up big with his third double-double of the season as he finished with 20 points and 10 boards. Kelly ended the first half with 13 points and nine boards.
 
SUCCESS FROM THE STRIPE
Charleston Southern did find success from the free throw line throughout the contest, but only two Buccaneers saw the line. Johnson made the most of his attempts, going 11-12. Kelly stood as the only other CSU player to find the line, going 3-4 to bring the team total to 14-16, the highest percentage as a team in a game all season.
 
MINUTES
Charleston Southern received minutes from nine different players, six of which contributed at least 25 minutes in the contest. Johnson led the way in that department, standing as one of just three Buccaneers to play at least 30 minutes with 36. Kelly and A'lahn Sumler were the other two Bucs to reach the 30-minute mark.

UP NEXT
The Bucs return to the Buc Dome for their next affair, as they host South Carolina State as part of a double header Saturday, December 2. The action kicks off at 2:00 p.m. as the Women's team hosts SC State and the Men's game is slated for a 5:30 p.m. tip.
