CHARLOTTE – Jaden Kinsley was named as the Big South Track Athlete of the Week in the inaugural edition of the weekly awards for the 2023-2024 indoor season. The league office made the announcement for the award winners on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Kingsley began the season this past Saturday at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener from Boston University and set a school record in the 5K at the meet. Kingsley finished the event with a time of 14:12.06 in the star-studded field. He slashed over 20 seconds off his previous personal best and used the time from the meet to catapult himself into the top spot in the school record books.
 
Kingsley is coming off a strong fall cross country season that saw him end the year by being awarded the Big South Male Runner of the Year award. He closed the fall with a 20^th place finish at the NCAA Regionals to become the second-ever CSU athlete to earn NCAA All-Region status.
 
Charleston Southern returns to the track after the Christmas break for their next meet with it being the Gamecock Opener on Saturday, January 13 at the University of South Carolina.
