Engelbredt and the Bucs Take Second Place in the Rivertowne Invitational

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -  Caroline Engelbredt took home the individual runner-up trophy, as the Charleston Southern women's golf team tied for a second-place finish in the Rivertowne Invitational this past weekend. There were 19 teams in total that competed in the tournament. It is the Bucs' best finish of the spring season to date. 

The Bucs finished with a total score of 873 after three rounds, and were +9 over par. Engelbredt had the best score for Charleston Southern, finishing at 214. Libby Singleton was right behind her, finishing with a score of 219, which was tied for seventh in the competition. 

Engelbredt was consistent throughout the whole tournament, finishing with a 71 in the first two rounds and 72 in the third round. 

Madison Freeman finished with a score of 220. She shot a 72, 73 and 74 in each of the three rounds, which was second best on the team and 19th overall.  Laerke Jensen finished with a score of 229, golfing a 73, 71 and 76. Freeman was able to finish in the top 25, and Jensen just missed the top 50. 

Next Up
The women's golf team will have a week off for spring break before going to Houston, TX for the HBU Husky Invitational starting on March 12th. It will be a three-day event, lasting through Tuesday, March 14th
