CSU Begins Stretch of Four-Straight Conference Matches on Wednesday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Winners of eight-straight matches, the Charleston Southern tennis team looks to continue the momentum on Wednesday, as the Presbyterian Blue Hose come to town for a conference battle. This is the first of four-straight matches against Big South opponents.

The Bucs (10-5, 1-0 in conference) are look for their second win in the conference this season. They lead the overall series against Presbyterian (3-12, 1-1 in conference) 13-5 with the last win coming last March, when they won 6-1 in Clinton.

Presbyterian has just three wins on the season in the 2022-23 season. They ended their 11-match losing streak against the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs with a win back on March 7, but followed that up with a 2-5 loss against Campbell on March 11. Wednesday's match will be their first in 11 days.

The Blue Hose were picked to finish fifth out of seven teams during the 2023 offseason. This was after a 6-15 (4-4 in conference) season where they lost to UNC Asheville in the Big South Tournament Quarterfinals. They are led by Head Coach Joel Roberts, who was a 2017 graduate of Presbyterian. He is in his fourth season at the helm in Clinton, S.C.

For Charleston Southern during their eight-match winning streak, they have been led by a few girls. Kassandra Di Staulo is 9-0 on the season in singles. Her match against UTSA on Sunday was unable to be finished, but she is looking for her tenth win of the season.

Noa Boyd is also having a great season, as she has already won Big South Player of the Week in February. Luiza Fullana is 8-3 on the season and is currently riding a five-match winning streak of her own into Wednesday's match.
