CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Southern softball team rallied on Saturday, defeating the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs 4-2 in what was supposed to be game one of a doubleheader. Game two was postponed due to rain and will be made up at a later date.
Raleigh Lewis went 2 for 3 and crushed her first home run of the season in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Bucs (11-17, 1-4 in conference) a 3-2 lead.
The Bulldogs (12-22, 1-4 in conference) broke through in the top of the first for the second-straight day, scoring one off of
Annah Junge with an RBI double. The Bucs responded in the bottom half of the inning, picking up three hits.

Cadence Walding to tie the game.
Gardner-Webb took a 2-1 lead, as a double, single and a fielder's choice led to their second run of the game.
As the rain began to fall in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Bucs added one more insurance run. With two outs,
Lacy Johnson singled, Junge walked and
Ashley Meckley knocked in a run to give the Bucs a 4-2 lead.
Junge picked up her tenth win of the season, evening the series for the Bucs. She went 7.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and striking out 2 batters to give the Bucs their first Big South win.
On Deck
After the rubber game was postponed due to weather, the Bucs will have a week off before traveling to Radford to take on the Highlanders next Friday. Game one is scheduled for 4 p.m. and all games will be streamed on ESPN+.
