Fullana Becomes Third Buc to Receive Big South Honors This Month

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South announced their weekly honors for women's tennis on Tuesday, and for the second-straight week, a member of the Charleston Southern tennis team was recognized. Luiza Fullana won conference Player of the Week.

The senior from Brasilia, Brazil went 2-0 last week, sweeping both of her matches in singles in impressive fashion, as the Bucs improved their winning streak to 11 over the weekend and remain undefeated in conference play.

Against Presbyterian, she cruised to victory with a 6-2 victory in set one and 6-2 victory in set two. In Radford, VA over the weekend, she dominated, winning 6-0 and 6-2.

With the wins, she now has an eight-match winning streak and is 11-3 overall in singles this season. She is the third player to receive Big South honors from the Bucs this month. Noa Boyd won the award on March 9th, and Amila Jusufbegovic took home the award last week.

Fullana will be one of two players recognized for Senior Day this Friday, as the Bucs play in their final home match of the season against Campbell at 1 p.m.
