Bucs Ready for Senior Day Against Campbell

CHARLESTON, S.C. -  Currently on an 11-match winning streak, the Charleston Southern tennis team will play its final match at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center on Friday, as they welcome the Campbell Fighting Camels for an afternoon matchup.

Luiza Fullana and Zoe Cauthen will be honored 15 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. start time as a part of the Senior Day festivities.

The Bucs (13-5, 4-0 in conference) ride into this match with one of the longest winning streaks in school history. In their past three matches, they have swept their opponents, all of which were Big South foes.

They took one at home 7-0 against Presbyterian back on March 22nd. Then followed that up with back-to-back road sweeps against Radford and Longwood. CSU has five overall this season.

Campbell (5-9, 2-2 in conference) is riding a two-match losing streak into Friday's contest, losing to two familiar non-conference opponents in East Carolina and South Carolina State. The Bucs defeated both of those teams earlier this season.

The Fighting Camels are led by Mike Stevens, who is in his fourth season at the helm. In the 2022 season, led by Stevens, Campbell finished second in the Big South, which was their best finish since the 2011-12 season. Their only loss of the season in conference play was to Charleston Southern. Stevens scheduled a tough non-conference for the Fighting Camels, as they have played two ACC opponents, including no. 2 North Carolina.

For the past two weeks, Charleston Southern has had the Big South Player of the Week in women's tennis. Fullana won it this week after going 2-0 with a clean sweep of Radford and Presbyterian. She is currently riding a winning streak of eight in the singles round.

Amila Jusufbegovic won the award the previous week, and Noa Boyd was honored earlier this month. Overall, Kassandra Di Staulo has been the leader in wins for CSU. She is undefeated with a 12-0 record in singles and is 2-1 in doubles.

After this, the Bucs head across town to take on the College of Charleston on April 5th before finishing the season in Asheville on April 8th.
