Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. - It only took one run and three hits, but the Charleston Southern softball team defeated the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs 1-0 on Wednesday to take their second-straight Big South series in a game that was made up from March 25
th.
Annah Junge threw a one-hit shutout to lead the Bucs (17-20, 5-6 in conference) to victory. Her final line was 7.0 innings, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts on the evening. This was her fifth complete-game shutout of the season.
The lone run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning, as
Weslin Jones led the inning off reaching on an error and stole second base. Then,
Ashley Meckley doubled to right center field, scoring Jones on what was an unearned run.
Jones, Meckley and
Harper Schoeneweis were the only Bucs to pick up a hit on the evening.

The Bucs are back in action this weekend, as they head to Farmville, VA to take on Longwood in a three-game series. They play two games on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and one starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. All games can be followed on live stats.
