The 2023 Outdoor Season carried on at Saturday's Meet of Champions with several Buccaneers improving on their season and personal bests.
Sprints/Hurdles
Shawn Langley Jr. looked strong in his first wind-legal 200m of the season. His time of 21.16 placed him second overall on Saturday and is the ninth-fastest 200m in school history. He also finished second in the 400m and turned in his season-best time of 47.48
In the hurdles,
Luciano Custodio achieved his personal best 400m hurdle time of 52.87. He placed second in the meet and is now the owner of the sixth-fastest 400m hurdle time in CSU history.
Jumps
Holden Gerth won the high jump with a personal best mark of 2.04m. He now has the ninth-best high jump mark in program history.Â
Throws
Aaron Pierce turned in a personal best javelin throw mark of 62.61m. He remains seventh in school history after taking second place in Saturday's competition.
Michael Calhoun took second in the shot put with his best mark measuring 17.48m.
Distance
Freshman
Jack McGahey led eight Buccaneers in the 1500m field with his personal best time of 3:51.00.
Griffin Gillespie,
Jeff Wedding, and
Mason Raasch were the next trio of CSU runners behind him.
Up Next
The Bucs will compete in their final meet before the conference championship next weekend. They'll travel to Atlanta for the Yellow Jacket Invitational, starting on April 21.
