NINETY SIX, S.C. – Charleston Southern women's golf saw its 2022-23 season come to a close Saturday morning, falling 3-2 to top-seeded Campbell in the match play semifinals of the Big South Championships at The Patriot at Grand Harbor course in Ninety Six, South Carolina.
NO. 4 SEED
The Buccaneers were one of the top-four squads after Friday's conclusion of stroke play, earning a coveted spot in the match play portion of the tournament with a chance at a conference tournament title and automatic NCAA Regionals berth.
CSU was the No. 4 seed among the quartet, a season after qualifying as the third seed in last year's event. It was the second time Charleston Southern reached the match play segment after the league adopted the extended format two springs ago to better align with the NCAAs.
PICKING UP POINTS
Caroline Engelbredt was the first top pick-up points for the Buccaneers as she finished the 17
th hole up two holes.
Laerke Jensen then tied the match up at two, apiece after finishing her flight two up.
