Charleston Southern traveled to face a top-ten program in Tennessee on their own track and performed well with several top-ten finishes among the field.
Sprints/Hurdles
Shawn Langley Jr. ran his first 200m of the year. With the wind just over the limit, Langley Jr. turned in a time of 21.80.
Jumps
Holden Gerth cleared the high jump bar at 1.85m and 1.90m and finished sixth overall.
Throws
Michael Calhoun took third in shot put with a best mark of 17.27m. His best throw came on his first attempt, but was consistent with his other throws measuring at 17.24m and 17.21m.Â
Aaron Pierce,
Holden Gerth, and
Landry Polk all competed in javelin. Pierce took second with his best mark of 56.95m, Gerth finished fifth with a mark of 50.58m, and Polk was sixth at 49.00m
Distance
Jeff Wedding led a trio of CSU runners in the 3K steeplechase, finishing fourth with a time of 9:14.82 which is his personal best and the eighth-fastest time in school history.
Mason Raasch (9:35.71) and
Jack McGahey (10:09.17) were behind him in 10th and 12th place.
Micah Gilpatric finished fifth overall in the 1500m with his time of 3:49.81 and
Rob Howorth was a few spots behind in eighth place with a time of 3:51.52.
Sam Waldin rounded out the Bucs in the 1500m with his time of 3:57.06.Â

The Bucs will be back in action next weekend at the High Point Meet of Champions, a one-day meet on Saturday, April 15.
