SPARTANBURG - The Charleston Southern Men's Golf Team recently showcased their skills at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where they participated in the Carolina Cup hosted by USC Upstate. The Buccaneers finished strong, securing for 5th overall with a total score of 914, on a challenging par-72 course.
 
Leading the Bucs was Layne Lambert, who had an outstanding performance as the top finisher for the Bucs tied for 17th. He started strong with rounds of 74 and 73, showcasing consistent play throughout the tournament and placing himself inside the top ten throughout the second round. He finished the week by shotting a 77.
 
Theodor Takman also made his mark, finishing tied for 24th place, shooting up the leaderboard on the final day as he went -3 for a 69. He had scores of 76 and 81 on the other days of the event.
 
Also in the lineup for the Buccaneers were Griffin Tarver (T39, +17), Dewi John (T44, +19) and Harrison Parker (T46, +20). Tarver fired a 79 in the opening round and followed it up with back-to-back 77s. John went 77, 81, 77 in his play and Parker had 81, 77, 78.
 
The team's collective effort at the Carolina Country Club not only highlights their potential but also sets a positive tone for the remainder of the season as they continue to build on their successes. Their next tournament will be the Elon Invitational which will be held from Monday, October 14 through Tuesday, October 15 and conclude their fall schedule.
