CHARLESTON, S.C. - Head Coach
Christi Musser adds a catcher in the 2025 recruiting cycle, as she and her staff went down to the peach state to pick up Addison Waring.
Waring, a native of Valdosta, GA, attended Lowndes High School. She will be spending most time behind the plate but could also see time at third base. Waring is a right-handed power hitter that will bring a big bat to the middle of the lineup.Â
Waring competes for the highly competitive team, Athletics Gold – Tamborra. 2024 has been a big season for Waring, as she was voted First-Team All-Region and a G.A.D.C All-Star selection after hitting .384 average and a .464 on-base percentage while going the entire season without making an error.Â
Extra Innings ranked Waring the No. 25 catcher nationally and No. 7 regionally. Her talents extend beyond the field to the classroom and the community. Intending to major in Graphic Design, Waring has achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA each semester at Lowndes and earned Gold Honor Roll as well as a nomination for Military Child of the Year. Waring participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and YoungLife at school while volunteering for Hurricane Relief and Youth Camps.

Head Coach Christi Musser on Waring:Â
"Vocal, leader, athlete, tough; these are some of the necessary traits every coach wants in a catcher. It also describes Addison Waring to a T. She is everything you want as a coach on the field, in the classroom and in the community. I see her coming in immediately as a leader and will inspire those around her with her energy and personality. She is so driven in both the classroom and on the field, look for Addison to make a big impact for the Bucs throughout her career."Â
Â
Waring on her decision to sign with Charleston Southern:
"I chose Charleston Southern for so many reasons. It felt like home! From the minute I met Coach Musser and Coach Ercolano they made me feel like I was already part of the family at CSU. Finding the right fit both academically and athletically was important to me. Charleston Southern offers the exact major I want to pursue. Being able to study art while playing softball is a dream come true."
