CHARLESTON – The Buccaneer's Men's Golf program announced the signing of Chase McBride to their class for this year on Wednesday afternoon. McBride will join Charleston Southern in the fall of 2025.

Ben Carroll. Chase has a very impressive resume and has experienced lots of tough competition in a really strong 2025 Florida class. He is an outstanding student and most importantly a great young man. We cannot wait to watch the impact he will have on this program in the future!"
McBride will arrive at Charleston Southern with a strong background from his time in high school and as an amateur. He has helped the team to back-to-back state championship appearances at the 3A level, the largest golf division in Florida. They had a district championship claimed in 2022 as well as a regional championship earned in 2023. As an individual, he placed 5
th at the 2022 District Championship and took 2
nd at the 2023 Regional Championship.
Outside of his high school play, he placed 24
th at the 2024 Press Thornton Future Masters, tied for 4
th at the Notah Begay FL Regional Championship in 2023 and 2024 and top 20 at the 2024 FSGA Junior Match Play. He was ranked 35
th in the state of Florida's class of 2025 rankings as one of the top seniors in the southeast.
In the classroom, he has been an honor roll student for each of his first three years at the school and joined the SJVS National Honor Society this season. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Nease High School Athletic Leadership Council and is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
His parents, Cara Grimm McBride and Ivan McBride are each former student-athletes of Charleston Southern and are members of the Athletic Hall of Fame. Ivan was a member of the baseball program and was drafted in the 1987 MLB Draft while Cara was on the CSU softball team.
