Nealy Lamb Wins Pitcher of the Week after 2-0 Weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After a banner weekend in which she threw two complete-game shutouts, Nealy Lamb takes home Big South Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season. The conference announced this on Monday. 

Lamb went 2-0 on the weekend with a 0.00 ERA, as she allowed just six hits and struck out 10 batters in 14.0 innings pitched to help Charleston Southern win the series against the Radford Highlanders. She also struck out her 100th batter of the season.

The freshman from Cades, S.C. has burst onto the scenes in her first year of collegiate softball. She leads the conference with a 1.78 ERA and a .177 opponent batting average. During conference play, she has been even better, as she owns a 5-2 record with a 1.07 ERA. 

This is Lamb's third recognition from the conference this season and her first-time winning Pitcher of the Week. She has won Freshman of the Week twice this season. 

Lamb and the Buccaneers currently sit in second place in the Big South standings with a 7-5 conference record. They have four more games at home beginning on Tuesday, when they host The College of Charleston Cougars at 5 PM.
