CHARLESTON – The Big South announced the official field and seedings for the 2024 Big South Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers earned their spot into the field as the #4 seed and will open the tournament on Thursday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m. taking on #1 Presbyterian.
 
Presbyterian won the regular season championship with an 18-6 record in conference action this year. High Point (17-7) took the #2 seed while USC Upstate (16-8) earned the #3. Charleston Southern rounds out the field of the four-team tournament as the #4 seed after finishing Big South play with a 12-12 mark.
 
The tournament is set as a double elimination format for the four teams in it. The action gets started on Thursday afternoon with each of the opening games to take place that day. On Friday, two teams will be eliminated while the other two will punch their tickets to Saturday's championship. Saturday is scheduled to have the first game take place at noon with a second scheduled for 4:00 p.m. if the team from the loser's bracket were to defeat the 2-0 squad in the earlier game. The winner of the tournament will receive the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Last time Charleston Southern made the field for the Big South Championships was 2022. They entered the event as the #5 seed and opened the week 3-0 defeating #4 High Point, #1 Campbell and #2 USC Upstate to cruise into the Championship. In the championship, #1 Campbell avenged their loss from earlier in the week, defeating CSU twice on the championship day to win the title and advance to the NCAA Tournament.
