LEXINGTON – Charleston Southern's Men's Track and Field student-athletes concluded their 2024 outdoor seasons on Wednesday evening at the NCAA East Regional.
Aaron Pierce was the first CSU student-athlete to compete at the meet as he threw in the javelin. After fighting through weather delays in the middle of their round, they finished the event with Pierce taking 38
th overall. His best throw was his first attempt which went for 59.39m (194' 10").
Shawn Langley Jr. raced in the 400m dash at the meet and took 31
st overall in the event. He recorded a time of 46.99 in the second heat, which ended up being the fastest one as six of the eight runners advanced to the quarterfinals from that group.
Luciano Custodio rounded out the Buccaneers' competitors during the meet. He finished with a time of 52.34 in his race in the first heat. The time placed him 36
th overall in the field.
The second day of the NCAA East Regionals is scheduled for tomorrow, May 23 with the women's events to begin. Charleston Southern has three student-athletes that qualified for it in Chloe Greene (javelin), Layla Senter (Shot Put) and Amaya Johnson (400m).
