CHARLESTON – Micah Gilpatric claimed his second Big South Track Athlete of the Week award for the 2025 indoor season on Wednesday.
 
Gilpatric ran a time of 4:05.65 this past weekend at Clemson's Orange and Purple Invitational. He claimed fourth in the event in a field of nearly 40 runners, placing ahead of runners from Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. The time was just seconds off from his personal best of 4:02.30 during the 2023 season which came on the same track.
 
Also at the meet, he was on the school's squad for the Distance Medley Relay. The group substantially broke the school record in the event and had their time come in at second in the history of the Big South. The time comes in at 5^th so far this year ran by any D1 institution.
 
The Buccaneers will return to the track this weekend as they will compete at the Gamecock Challenge. South Carolina will serve as the hosts at the meet on Saturday, February 1.
