MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Odette Font Garcia won the individual title at the team's Rivertowne Invitational firing a 215 (-1) for the tournament and moved up the leaderboard into the solo lead on the final day to claim. As a team, the Bucs placed 7^th in the 14-team field.
 
Garcia shot 72 in the opening round and had a 73 to close out the first day with her second round score. In the third and final round, a score of 70 to move past the leaders going into the day. She started the day on hole 6 and had three birdies within the first four holes to move into contention. She had a total of five birdies in the round with scores of 35 on the front and back nine each.
 
This marks her third event win of her career as she claimed a pair during the spring of 2024. She won the Big South Individual Medalist honors at the conference championship and had won the Pine Tree Intercollegiate in the weeks leading up to the event. This week, she defeated golfers representing the Big IX, Conference USA, Atlantic-10, Coastal Athletic, and Big South among others in the process to claim the title.
 
Katie Stephens also secured a top ten finish at the tournament with a +6 for a total score of 222. She fired a consistent 74 during each of the rounds, being a consistent mainstay near the top of the field between the two days.
 
Isabella Galla was next up for the Bucs on the leaderboard in a tie for 39^th. She had scores of 74, 77, 82 for a total score of 233 (+17). Rounding out the team for Charleston Southern were Paige Zolciak (T49, +21) and Eugenie Varet (T52, +22). Chayse Cool (T54, +23) also traveled with the team to the event, competing as an individual.
 
The Buccaneers are back in action next week for another tournament within the city. They will compete in the Daniel Island Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston from February 24-25.
