LYNCHBURG, VA – The Charleston Southern softball team ended the Liberty Softball Classic on a high note, as they defeated Hofstra by a 4-2 score on Sunday morning.
Down 2-0, the Buccaneers (6-7) took advantage of a few blunders from Hofstra and were fueled by back-to-back doubles from
Emma Villaescusa and
Jordyn Dimond in the bottom of the fourth inning, tying up the score. A few batters later,
Charlee Yourman made it a 4-2 game with an RBI single.
Brenna Conley started for the Buccaneers, going 3.0 innings while allowing two runs on three hits while striking out five.
Riley Lauffer was awarded the victory, throwing 4.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts. She improved to 2-1 on the season.
The Buccaneers had five hits on the morning from five different players. They were perfect in the field with zero errors.
