RALEIGH – Charleston Southern Women's Track and Field completed the second day at the Raleigh Relays late on Friday evening.
The lone women's events on the opening day of the meet were the shot put and the javelin.
Alayna Abrams had the CSU best of 12.47m in the shot put while
Josaphine Ankney went for 12.01m in the event.
Amelia Stembridge threw in the javelin and recorded a mark of 35.90m in the event. On Friday, CSU had a pair of entrees in the discus with
Avah Morrison throwing 36.89m and Ankney having 35.72m.
On the track, Friday started with the women's 100m hurdles and the Buccaneers had a terrific outing in the event.
Austyn Koppe claimed sixth overall in the field of nearly 80 runners. Her time of 13.76 tied her wind legal season best to lead the Buccaneers at the meet. Chloe Mae Wilks was the next CSU finisher and had a time of 14.13 to move up a spot to ninth in school's all-time leaderboard for the event after claiming 16
th in the field.
Maeva Tahou also had a tremendous race, claiming 24
th overall with her 14.43.
In the 400m,
Maddie St. Louis had the team's top time in the 400m. She ran 56.14 in the event for an outdoor season best.
Caroline Aslerin ran a personal best of 56.72 while
Sophia Cupp had a 57.64 for an outdoor season best as well.
In the 1500m,
Freya Buglass recorded a career best time in the race finishing third in her heat. She had a 4:31.59 in the event, remaining in third in school history for the event but closing the gap between those ahead of her.
Charlize Antia had a 4:36.95, sliding her up a pair of spots on the all-time list to fifth in the event.
The women's 5K saw
Katrina Husby run an all-time race for the squad in the event. She recorded the fifth fastest time in school history with her 17:21.76, claiming fifth in her heat.
Charleston Southern returns to the campus of N.C. State tomorrow morning for the final day of the 2025 Raleigh Relays.
