Bucs Add a Set of Brothers to 2025 Men's Hoops Roster

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Friday afternoon, Charleston Southern Men's Basketball announced the signing of two additions to its 2025 roster, a set of brothers: Devin Brafford (Siena) and Nate Brafford (Georgia Southern).

"We are thrilled to add Nate and Devin to our program. Nate is a big wing that really makes shots and is able to make plays with the ball in his bands. He is also a competitor and that is exciting to add to our roster. Devin is a skilled seven-footer that is also a tremendous rim protector. He is going to compliment what we do on both sides of the ball very nicely," said Head Coach Saah Nimley.

Devin will arrive in Charleston with three years of remaining eligibility. As a true freshman at Siena (NY) this past season, the seven-footer displayed his non-traditional play style by showing his comfortability on the perimeter. Brafford shot an even 50% from the field as a freshman (37/74) and recorded his season-high 15 points back on January 16th against Sacred Heart.

Brafford's offensive abilities and potential do not exclude him from being a noticable talent defensively either. Before enrolling at Siena, Brafford led the entire 17U Under Armour circuit in blocked shots, and once he got to college, his rim protecting ability held strong as he averaged 1.2 blocks per contest (ranked 4th in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Now that Devin is signed with CSU, he is the tallest men's basketball player on record for at least the past 12 seasons.

Before college, Brafford spent a postgraduate year with PHHoenix Prep in Arizona where he played for the Overtime Elite program. He was also a nominee for the McDonald's All-American game's West squad.

Nate, the eldest brother, spent three years in Statesboro, Georgia as a member of the Georgia Southern Eagles. As a junior, he appeared in 29 games (starting 18), shot 46% from the floor and 40% from three-point land. As a sophomore, he started in 19 of the Eagles' 33 contests and led the Sun Belt Conference squad with a stellar 92% from the free-throw line. His freshman season, he played in 21 contests and recorded a solid 37% clip from downtown.

Before college, Brafford averaged 24 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks as a senior at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Georgia. He was named a part of the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A All-State First-Team... was the 2021 Carolinas Athletic Conference Player of the Year... led the state in scoring back in 2019 (33.9 points per game) as a student-athlete at Tuscola High School as well as being named the District 12 Player of the Year and conference Player of the Year... set the Tuscola High School single game scoring record with 51 points in an overtime victory... scored 2,600 points in his high school career.
