Kinsey Clopton lasted just 0.1 innings on Thursday, as she allowed eight runs on five hits while walking three batters before giving way to
Riley Lauffer, as the Lancers sent 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning.
Down 10-1 in the top of the fifth, the Buccaneers had their best offensive showing of the tournament, scoring five runs to cut the deficit to four runs.
Jordyn Dimond cleared the bases with a two-run single and went to second on an error that allowed one more to score and for Dimond to advance to second. Then,
Emma Villaescusa knocked in Dimond with an RBI single.
The Buccaneers had eight hits overall and left seven runners on base. Their 2025 season comes to an end, as they finish the regular season 20-27 (9-9 in conference) and went 0-2 in the tournament. They had four players receive confernce honors, including two players in
Carsten Sandvig and
Charlee Yourman, who made First Team All-Big South.
