CHARLESTON - The Big South Conference announced preseason awards for the upcoming softball season on Wednesday afternoon. Charleston Southern ranked fifth in the preseason poll, with two Buccaneers selected for the Preseason All-Conference Team.
Jordyn Dimond claims the first preseason All-Conference spot. Jordyn is entering her third season with the Bucs, last season she played 48 games, starting all 48 of those appearances. She also led the team batting .345, and had an on base percentage of .397. She had 48 hits, 26 runs scored, and 16 runs batted in.
Charlee Yourman also claimed a spot on the list. Charlee is going into her fourth year with the Buccaneers, and was named All-Conference First Team at the end of last season. She started in 45 games and appeared in 47 throughout the season. She was a key contributor with a .307 batting average and .385 on base percentage. She totaled 35 hits with 13 runs batted in.
The Buccaneers start their season on Friday, February 5 against Sienna in the CSU/CofC Kickoff Tournament.Â
