Clark Sets School Record in 400m to End 2026 Indoor Regular Season

TYRON, N.C. – Charleston Southern Women's Track and Field ended their regular season on Saturday at the Tyron Mid-Winter Invitational. Maya Clark and Caroline Aslerin highlighted the team's performance at the meet with their 400m.
 
In the 400m, Clark ran a school record in the 400m with a 54.41 to win the event at the meet. The time ranks as tied for the third-best time in conference history for the 400m as well. Aslerin ran a personal best as well and claimed second at the meet with her 54.75 which ranks now as the third best in program history and ninth best in league history. Barbara de Kock and Brenda du Toit claimed fourth and fifth at the meet with times of 57.37 and 57.50.
 
In the 800m, Lucy McNamara and Freya Buglass went 1-2 in the event at the meet. McNamara ran a personal best of 2:13.89 for the fourth-best time in program history while Buglass was just off her career best with a 2:14.66 on the day. Sienna Rose also ran in it and had a 2:20.94 for ninth at the meet.
 
In the 200m, Grenisha Thomas won the event with her time of 24.64 while Clark's 24.64 was a personal best to get second. Clark's time ranks as the ninth-fastest in school history. Tahou ran 24.75 for third in the event and Aslerin had 24.85 for fourth.
 
In the 5K, the Bucs placed the top three finishers in the race with Katrina Husby leading the way followed by Giada D'Agostino and Elizabeth Shaylor. Husby's time of 17:31.27 ranks as the fourth-best in school history while D'Agostino's comes in at eighth all-time with her 17:53.38. Shaylor ran a 17:57.43, just off her career best time.
 
In the 60m hurdles, each of the Bucs' five entrees recorded the top five times in the prelims and the finals. Maeva Tahou won the event with a personal best of 8.40 which ranks as the second-best time in school history and the eighth best in Big South history. Grenisha Thomas was close behind at 8.47 for the new third-best performance in program history for the event. Chloe Mae Wilks, Brenda du Toit and Katelyn Grate rounded out the top five for the Bucs.
 
In the 60m dash, Thomas ran the fastest time in the prelims and went on to win the race as well while Danea Niles was third in each. Thomas had a 7.62 in the prelims and then a 7.60 in the finals while Niles had a 7.79 and 7.78.
 
Charlize Antia was just off her personal best in the mile at the meet as she ran a time of 4:58.97 in the race. Husby had a time of 5:13.07 for seventh in the event.
 
In the triple jump, Maeva Tahou claimed second in the event with a jump of 11.68m.
 
In the shot put, Yassine Kamara won the event with a throw of 13.93m with Zemaya Carson right behind her in second at 13.75m. Lily Rowan thew a personal best of 13.07m to be tied for the tenth-best throw in the event in school history. Josaphine Ankney had 13.00m while Avah Morrison had a career best of 12.83m.
 
In the weight throw, Carson won the event with a best on the day of 18.17m. Lily Rowan had her best throw of her career in the event with a 17.11m for third at the meet. Her throw moves her to fourth all-time in program history.
 
The Buccaneers will now finish their preparations for the Big South Indoor Championships. The meet will be held at this same facility with the meet to be competed from Friday, February 27 through Saturday, February 28.
