CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston Southern softball team fell to Georgia State on Wednesday night at home.
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, scoring six runs in the first three innings to take a 6-0 advantage.
The Bucs were hitless through three before Blakley Kingsmore broke up the no-hitter with a single to left field in the fourth. Kingsmore stole her 11th base of the season before advancing to third on a groundout, but was ultimately left stranded.
The Panthers added two more runs in the fourth to extend their lead to 8-0 ot push the game to run rule territory.
In the fifth, Lorenzza Marcacci and Carsten Sandvig each drew walks before Sydney Spayd reached on a fielder's choice, resulting in an out at third for Marcacci. Sandvig and Spayd were left on base.
Riley Lauffer started in the circle for the Bucs throwing 1.2 innings with one strikeout. Brenna Conley followed with 2.1 innings of work, allowing three runs. Gianna Deluco also made an appearance, throwing one inning with one strikeout, and no runs earned.

Charleston Southern travels to North Carolina this weekend for the Elon/UNCG Tournament. The Bucs will face Indiana on Friday, February 27 at 12:30 p.m. before taking on UNC Greensboro at 5:30 p.m. in Elon, N.C.
