Bucs Add Middle Blocker, Grace Smith Ahead of 2026 Campaign

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern Volleyball and Head Coach Carry Brown have officially welcomed Missouri State transfer and Virginia native, Grace Smith to the Buccaneer family.

Grace Smith | 6'1" | Middle Blocker | Woodbridge, Virginia | Missouri State + Norfolk State

A strong presence at the net, Smith arrives in the Lowcountry after two seasons at Missouri State, where she developed into one of the top blockers in Conference USA. In 2025, she appeared in 19 matches and totaled 63 blocks—ranking sixth in the league in blocks per set—while recording a season-high 11 blocks against Southeast Missouri. She also contributed offensively with 45 kills and a .215 hitting percentage, showcasing her efficiency and impact on both sides of the net.

Smith began her collegiate career at Norfolk State, earning MEAC All-Rookie Team honors in 2023 after finishing with 85 kills, 52 blocks, and a .257 hitting percentage across 22 matches. A native of Woodbridge, Virginia, Smith was a standout at Colgan High School, where she earned First-Team All-State honors and helped lead her team to a Virginia Class 6A state runner-up finish as a senior after capturing a state title her junior year. Her combination of size, experience, and proven production make her a valuable addition to the Buccaneers' front line heading into the 2026 campaign.
