DURHAM, N.C. – The Charleston Southern Women's Track & Field team competed at the Duke Invitational this weekend. At the meet, the distance squad set three new top ten marks in school history for different events.
In the women's 1500m,
Charlize Antia had a personal best time in the event for a time of 4:32.56. It ranks as the fifth-fastest time in school history for the event.
Brianna Adams and
Sienna Rose both competed in the event as well with times and had times of 4:54.26 and 4:55.24.
In the 800m,
Freya Buglass was the Bucs' top finisher and had a time of 2:11.58 for 29
th in the field of over 100 runners.
Lucy McNamara ran a 2:14.54 for a career best and the seventh fastest time in school history. Rose had a 2:15.57 and Antia ran a 2:16.32 with Rose's marking a personal best and 9
th in program history.
Danea Niles competed in the 100m dash and had a season best time of 12.07 in the race. Additionally, she ran a 24.85 in the 200m dash for another season best.
Next weekend, the Buccaneers will travel to Atlanta to take part in the Georgia Tech Invite. The meet will be held on Friday, April 17 through Saturday, April 18 and marks the next to last regular season event of the spring for the squad.
