WAKE FOREST, N.C. - Charleston Southern sent a group of their top distance runners to compete at the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday evening.

The Buccaneers' Martin Iriondo and Micah Gilpatric each claimed a top eight finish in the event at the meet. Iriondo ran a personal best time of 29:46.06 for fifth at the meet and sixth in school history. The time ranks as the 101st fastest time in NCAA D1 so far this season. Gilpatric had a time of 30:07.20 for eighth at the meet. 

Charleston Southern has another group of student-athletes competing in the Georgia Tech Invite this weekend. The meet will be competed on Friday and Saturday in Atlanta as they have just one more meet left this spring ahead of the Big South Championships in mid-May.
