High School: Thompson joined the Bucs by way of West Ashley High School in Charleston, S.C., where she lined up at multiple positions including catcher and the infield for Head Coach Bobby Marion. She also played for the Carolian Fire 18U club team coached by Tony Mendez and Bob Thompson. Lexi was a standout catcher and shortstop at West Ashley since joining the squad in her seventh grade season and  led the team in multiple hitting categories including doubles, triples and home runs since the 2012 season. Among her accolades, Thompson was a three-time All-Region selection. She was also a North-South All-Star in 2015, a 2015 S.C. All-State selection, High School Sports Report All-State selection and an All-Lowcountry selection.

Personal: Born Alexis Lauren Thompson, she is the daughter of Robert and Terri Thompson and plans on pursuing a degree in Physical Education at Charleston Southern.
