Bailey Bjornson begins his first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Charleston Southern men's and women's golf programs after completing his collegiate career with the Buccaneers in 2025-26.
Bjornson made an immediate impact during his lone season at Charleston Southern, earning Big South Newcomer of the Year honors after competing in all 10 tournaments. He recorded four top-20 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Fripp Island Intercollegiate at 1-under par. He also tied for 11th at the Elon Phoenix Invitational after firing a season-best 5-under-par tournament, including back-to-back rounds of 68.
Prior to Charleston Southern, Bjornson spent four seasons at Simon Fraser University, where he was one of the top golfers in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. As a freshman, he was named the GNAC Freshman of the Year after posting a 72.3 scoring average and finishing runner-up at the conference championship. He added four top-10 finishes during his sophomore campaign, including a tie for fourth at the Western Washington University Invitational, and concluded the season by competing in the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship, where he tied for 25th nationally. In his junior season, he competed in four tournaments and posted a top-10 finish at the Saint Martin's University Bishop Invitational before sitting out the 2024-25 season.
Over his collegiate career, Bjornson competed in 35 tournaments and 99 rounds, compiling a 73.3 career scoring average with nine top-10 finishes. Prior to college, the Surrey, British Columbia native was a standout junior golfer, earning 11 Maple Leaf Junior Tour victories, winning on the Vancouver Golf Tour, and helping Pacific Academy capture the 2019 BC AA Provincial Championship while serving as a two-time team MVP.
